About

Indaba is a Zulu-language word meaning a community meeting to solve problems. The Indaba fieldwork platform is a set of tools that help groups of people gather and publish information.

The Indaba platform is a browser-based platform that allows geographically distributed teams to create, edit, review and publish original content, such as policy scorecards or citizen audits. This content can include text, quantitative data, and uploaded files of any type.

For a complete description, read our whitepaper or feature list.

Indaba is currently deployed with research teams in more than 30 countries. Indaba is used by a growing community of organizations like Public Radio International that are gathering more information with less effort by streamlining labor-intensive fieldwork and applying best practices for sharing data.

Indaba is designed by a coalition of NGOs, convened by Global Integrity, which has ten years of experience building software-as-a-service for research teams. Indaba is an effort to open Global Integrity’s in house tools to the NGO community, and create a forum for sharing insights into methodologies and fieldwork.

We are looking for organizations that need help managing data gathering.

If you think Indaba can help you, or would like to make an introduction, please contact Monika Shepard at Monika.Shepard@globalintgrity.org.
