Indaba is a collaborative project designed by a coalition of non-governmental organizations working to improve governance and transparency. The Indaba community is coordinated by Monika Shepard at Global Integrity, the organization that conceived and initially backed Indaba. Technical development involves engineers and designers at Croix Connect and Open Concept Systems, working with designers at Global Integrity.

Design of the Indaba platform has benefited from input from a diverse group of NGOs in the transparency and good governance field.
