Frequently Asked Questions

Is your question not answered here? Let your manager know via Indaba sitemail; they will reply by sitemail, and may also post it here. You can send your manager a sitemail from Indaba’s People tab.

Q: I just started working. I could edit my work yesterday, now I can’t. What’s going on?

A: To edit any Indaba content, you have to click on the assignment name from the yellow “Your Assignments” box. Where you click from matters, as it brings up different tools. To do work, START IN THE YELLOW BOX.

There are other ways to get to a document, such as the “Your Content” box below, but this brings you to the “Read Only View” (you might notice that label on the top of the page). As the name implies, you can’t change things from the “Read Only View”, only from the “Your Assignments” box. The system is built the way because you might have multiple assignments pointed at the same document; you’d need to be able to choose which tool you want to use on it. However, I think this is too confusing and we’re looking at ways to make this easier in the future. — Jonathan Eyler-Werve
